The NUT has today just announced that the country could be hit by another Teachers’ strike on 26th March 2014, again over the changes and proposed changes which are being planned to pay, pensions and conditions. With the Government keen to pursue a movement towards performance related pay structures and changes to the pension package, it is being warned that the industrial action could have a knock on impact for all schools across England and Wales.

The NASUWT, the other large teaching union are yet to decide whether they will support the NUT in this industrial action, however with conjoined support being shown during the last two national strikes, it would not come as a surprise to anyone.

Despite the more recently planned action for November 2013 and February 2014 having been called off, unions are disappointed that the Government are allegedly putting obstacles in the way of progressing talks.
